Why it keeps returning

Spray and paint treat the stain, not the damp

Shop-bought sprays bleach the colour out of mould, so the wall looks better for a while. The roots stay in the sealant, plaster or paint, and as soon as the room gets damp again the marks come back.

Lasting results need two things: the growth taken out and treated properly, and the cause of the moisture understood. That might be steam with nowhere to go, a cold corner, a slow leak or a blocked vent. We look for all of them.

Signs worth a closer look

  • It comes back in the same placeUsually a sign of a cold spot or a hidden source of moisture.
  • It smells mustyEven where you cannot see much growth yet.
  • It is behind furniture or in cupboardsWhere air does not move and walls stay cold.

What to expect

What happens when we visit

There are two visits: one to find out what is going on, and one to put it right. Nothing is done or charged beyond the survey until you have agreed the quote.

The survey visit

A technician looks at the affected rooms, takes moisture readings, checks ventilation and looks for leaks. They explain what they find as they go, so you are not left guessing.

Your quote

You receive a fixed written price, a plain explanation of the cause and an idea of how long the treatment will take and which rooms will be out of use.

Treatment day

We seal off the area, remove the mould and affected material, treat the surfaces and apply a three-coat finish. Afterwards you receive a report with photographs and your guarantee terms.

Want us to take a look? Same-day and next-day visits are often available. You can also send photos on WhatsApp first.

Before we arrive

A few things that help on the day

You do not need to prepare much, but these small steps make the visit quicker and the result better.

  • Do not wipe or spray the mould just before the survey, so we can see its true extent
  • Move small items, ornaments and clothes away from affected walls
  • Clear space so we can reach windows, corners and the area behind furniture
  • Note when the mould first appeared and whether it changes with the seasons
  • Tell us about any past leaks, repairs or redecorating in that room
  • Let us know about pets, young children or anyone with breathing problems at home

Our method

Eight stages, every time

The same method on a studio flat or a commercial unit, so results are consistent and reports are comparable across your whole portfolio.

  1. Inspection and moisture assessment

We find where the moisture comes from, how far the growth has spread and what has to change.

  2. Area containment

The work area is sealed off so spores are not carried into rooms that are clean.

  3. HEPA vacuuming

Loose spores and debris are captured with HEPA-filtered equipment before any surface work starts.

  4. Dehumidification

Damp surfaces are dried out so the treatment can take hold properly.

  5. Physical mould removal

Affected sealant, coatings and damaged material are taken out, not painted over.

  6. Antimicrobial treatment

A non-bleach antimicrobial is applied to treated surfaces and the area around them.

  7. Three-coat paint system

Treated surfaces are sealed and finished with a three-coat, mould-resistant system.

  8. Final check and documentation

We review the finished work and issue the written report with photographs and readings.

    Your questions

    What homeowners ask us

Is mould in my home dangerous?

Mould and damp can affect health, particularly for babies, older people and anyone with asthma or a weakened immune system. If someone in your home is unwell and you are worried, speak to your GP. Our job is to remove the growth properly and deal with the conditions that let it grow.

Do I need to move out while you work?

Usually not. We seal off the area being treated, so the rest of your home stays in use. You may lose a room, such as a bathroom or bedroom, for a period while the treatment and paint system are applied. We tell you which rooms and for how long when we give you the quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you myself?

Yes, some tenants choose to pay for a survey or treatment themselves. Mould in a rented home is often the landlord's responsibility, so it is worth reporting it to them in writing too. Our report gives you a clear, dated record of what we found that you can share with your landlord.

    How much will it cost?

Treatment starts from £550. After we have seen the problem we give you a fixed written quote based on the area affected and the work needed. If you go ahead, that is the price you pay, with nothing added on afterwards.

    Will the mould come back?

If the cause stays the same, mould can return, which is why we explain it and recommend what to change, such as better extraction or fixing a leak. Once those recommended fixes are done, the treated areas are covered by our written guarantee.
